Mombosa

The island town of Mombasa is a major Sea gateway for eastern Africa and the oldest and second largest metropolis.
It has a history of Greek Persia and Arab trades from 1,000 years ago.
For 200 years there was a struggle in Mombasa between the Portugese and the Arabs. The Portugese won the battle because of the protection of Fort jesus which was built in 1593.

 

Malindi

This is where Vasco da Gama, slave trader, first arrived in east Africa.
Malindi is the main center for deep sea fishing and Old Town, with its building from the 1930's.
